Working principle
Like conventional ultrasonic heat meters, 4G IoT ultrasonic heat meters also measure flow using the ultrasonic time‑difference method. In the pipeline, ultrasonic transducers transmit and receive ultrasonic signals; by calculating the time difference between signal propagation in the forward and reverse directions, the velocity of the heat‑carrying fluid is determined, yielding the flow rate. Additionally, temperature sensors are installed on both the supply and return lines to measure the supply and return water temperatures. Based on the flow rate and temperature‑difference data, heat output is calculated according to the established heat‑calculation formula.
Its distinguishing feature is its 4G communication module, which enables the transmission of data collected by the heat meter—such as flow rate, heat consumption, and temperature—over a 4G network to a remote server or management platform.

1. Ultrasonic water meters determine water flow by detecting the time difference caused by changes in the speed of ultrasonic beams as they propagate upstream and downstream in the water, and then analyzing and processing this data to calculate the flow rate.
