The heat meter measures fluid heat by installing temperature sensors on the upstream and downstream pipelines to acquire temperature signals for both supply and return water; it is suitable for residential use in large-diameter applications.

Product Description:
1. An ultrasonic heat meter is a measuring instrument that uses ultrasonic technology to determine the flow rate of a fluid—typically water—and the supply and return water temperatures, thereby calculating the amount of heat released or absorbed in a heat exchange system.
2. It typically consists of three parts:
- Flow sensor (base meter): Responsible for acquiring flow signals. It is available in two types: pipe‑section type (integrated design, easy to install) and insertion type (suitable for retrofitting large‑diameter pipelines).
- Paired temperature sensors (PT1000): a pair of high-precision platinum resistance thermometers, mounted respectively on the supply and return pipes, used to measure the temperature difference.
- Calculator (MSP430 totalizer): Responsible for receiving sensor signals, performing data processing and storage, and displaying cumulative heat, instantaneous flow rate, temperature, and other relevant information.
3. It can simultaneously support IC card, MBUS, 485-based meter reading and verification, as well as wireless meter reading. The wireless interface supports modules such as NB‑IoT and 4G. The wireless module can be integrated within the meter or configured in a split architecture connected externally to the meter. The wireless communication module allows for online adjustment of the operating frequency band.
4. Ultrasonic heat meter type:
1) Classification by installation method:
Household type (DN15–25, compact in size, installed at the manifold inside residential homes);
Building/Industrial type (DN32 or larger, large volume, used to measure the total energy consumption of an entire building or factory).
2) Classified by the number of channels:
Single-channel (simple structure, low cost, suitable for general accuracy requirements);
Dual-channel/multi-channel (with higher measurement accuracy, suitable for large-diameter applications or high-precision requirements).
5. Working Conditions:
Working pressure: not greater than 1.6 MPa; operating temperature: 4–95°C; temperature difference: 3–75 K; environmental class: Class B.
6. Applications:
- Residential heating metering by unit: With the advancement of “energy conservation and emissions reduction” and “heating reform” policies, ultrasonic heat meters have become the standard equipment for individual-unit metering in newly built residential communities.
- Central air-conditioning cooling‑energy metering: In office buildings and hotels, it is used to measure the cooling energy consumed by the central air-conditioning system.
- Industrial Energy Management: Enables monitoring of steam and hot water energy consumption across factory workshops, facilitating granular cost accounting.
Functional Features:
- No mechanical wear, long service life: With no rotating components such as impellers inside, it is minimally affected by harsh water quality—contaminants, chemicals, and magnetic materials—and exhibits strong resistance to interference. Maintenance costs are low, and it does not suffer from wear caused by sediment or prolonged operation, ensuring a long service life.
- Low start-up flow rate and high sensitivity: It can detect extremely low water flow rates—even a single drop turning into a stream—ensuring more accurate metering and effectively preventing heat‑theft.
- Low pressure drop and energy savings: The straight-through flow path minimizes resistance to water flow, reducing system friction and lowering the energy consumption of the circulation pump.
- Dual‑direction metering: supports both heating and cooling (measures both heating and cooling); inlet and return water temperatures are user‑selectable; suitable for central air‑conditioning cooling‑capacity measurement and easy to install.
- Easy to install, suitable for both horizontal and vertical mounting; the dial is rotatable, meeting reading requirements from various orientations.
- Automatic fault diagnosis ensures safe and accurate operation: By employing high‑quality transducers and advanced electronic measurement technology, the system delivers highly accurate and stable flow measurements.
- Multiple communication options are available (M‑BUS remote meter reading, infrared meter reading), enabling remote data transmission and centralized meter reading.
- According to the order requirements, 15-25 temperature‑measuring ball valves or temperature‑measuring tees can be supplied.
